Assistant Division Manager - Systems Maintenance

The Assistant Division Manager - Systems Maintenance performs difficult skilled technical and administrative work overseeing the installation, inspection, maintenance, and repair of the City’s water distribution system, sanitary sewer collection system, and associated water/sewer rights-of-way and easements; does related work as required.  Work is performed under the general direction of the Division Manager of Utilities Maintenance. Continuous supervision is exercised over assigned staff. 

 Education/Experience:

•  Bachelor's degree in civil engineering, construction technology, or related field 
• Considerable progressively experience in the maintenance and operation of water distribution and sanitary sewer collection systems including moderate supervisory experience
• or equivalent combination of education and experience. 
• Registration as an Engineer-in-Training or Professional Engineer in the state of North Carolina is preferred

Special Requirements:

• Possession of NC Grade IV Collection System or ability to obtain within two years of hire.
• NC Grade A Distribution System certification or ability to obtain within two years of hire.
• NIMS 100, 200, and 700 within twelve months.
• Valid North Carolina driver’s license.
