Utilities Systems Maintenance Specialist

$2,000 sign-on bonus to be paid as a lump sum after successful completion of probationary period

The City of Salisbury is seeking a self-motivated individual who will work in the Water Resources Division of Salisbury-Rowan Utilities (SRU). Responsibilities include but are not limited to performing preventative maintenance and repairs for water and wastewater treatment plant equipment, pump stations, tanks, and related equipment. The Utilities Systems Maintenance Specialist should have knowledge in one or more of the following fields: instrumentation, electrical, motor controls, mechanical, plumbing, pneumatics, and welding/fabrication.

Minimum Requirements:
• High school diploma or GED and experience in water and/or wastewater utility systems, mechanical and electrical systems, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Must have a valid NC Driver’s License.
• Experience utilizing work order and asset managementsoftware is desired.
• Possession of or ability to obtain NC Grade 1 Maintenance Technologist or Collection System Operator 1 certificate within 12 months of hiring.
