Project Manager
The Town of Mount Olive is seeking a qualified and experienced Project Manager to lead and oversee a variety of municipal infrastructure projects, including water, wastewater, storm drainage, street repair, and other assigned initiatives. This role is critical to the successful execution of our capital projects, ensuring compliance with contractual obligations, safety standards, budget constraints, and scheduling requirements.
Key Responsibilities
• Ensure all work complies with contractual requirements, plans, and specifications.
• Manage and monitor project budgets to ensure financial efficiency.
• Maintain project schedules and track progress against construction plans.
• Develop and manage staffing plans, forecasting personnel needs throughout all phases of construction.
• Oversee procurement activities to ensure scope, pricing, and timelines align with project goals.
• Create and implement a comprehensive quality control plan.
• Promote a culture of safety and ensure the site-specific safety plan addresses project-specific risks.
• Provide daily oversight of project activities to ensure operational excellence.
• Contribute to proposal development, including strategy, preparation, and presentations.
• Lead preconstruction efforts such as scope reviews, price negotiations, and value engineering.
• Obtain (or currently hold) a Wastewater Collections Grade I and C-Distribution certification within twelve months of employment.
• Maintain and update project data using the Diamond Maps system.
• Posses and maintain a valid North Carolina Driver’s License.
Qualifications & Education
• Minimum of five (5) years of experience as a Project Manager in engineering and/or construction management.
• At least five (5) years of supervisory experience in construction activities.
• Proven ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
Work Schedule & Compensation
• Full-time position: Monday through Friday, 8:00 A.M. to 5:00 P.M.
• Occasional overtime may be required.
• Salary is negotiable and will be based on education and experience.
