We operate a Grade IV Biological Nutrient Removal and Extended Aeration Water Reclamation Facility—a vital part of local environmental health. Our plant manages an average daily flow of 0.58 MGD with a permitted capacity of 1.37 MGD. While certifications are necessary down the line, we don’t require them at the time of hire and offer comprehensive training for the right candidate. Key job responsibilities include:
- Monitoring and Control: Observing operating conditions, meters, and gauges, often via computerized control panels (SCADA systems), and adjusting valves, gates, and pumps to regulate flow and treatment processes.
- Sampling and Testing: Collecting wastewater and sludge samples and conducting routine laboratory tests (e.g., pH, chlorine levels, biological content) to ensure compliance with local, state, and federal environmental regulations and permit requirements.
- Maintenance and Repair: Inspecting, cleaning, and performing routine preventive and emergency maintenance on plant equipment, tanks, filter beds, pumps, motors, and other machinery using a variety of hand and power tools.
- Record Keeping and Reporting: Accurately documenting operational data, test results, maintenance activities, and meter readings, and preparing reports for regulatory agencies.
- Safety and Compliance: Following strict safety protocols and ensuring the facility operates within all required standards to protect public health and the environment.
- Emergency Response: Responding quickly and competently to equipment malfunctions, power outages, or weather conditions that might impact plant operations or capacity.
- General Upkeep: Performing general housekeeping chores and maintaining the plant grounds, including tasks like cleaning equipment, mowing, and minor building upkeep.
Minimum Qualifications
- High School Diploma or GED
- Valid Driver’s License
Preferred Qualifications
- Waste Water or Drinking Water Treatment Experience
- Waste Water, Drinking Water, Collections, or Distribution Certifications
- Plant Operations or Maintenance Experience
Position Requirements*
