Distributions & Collections Systems Technician I, II, or Senior (Water Service Connections Technician)

$2,000 sign-on bonus to be paid as a lump sum after the completion of a successful probationary period.

Join Team Salisbury as a Distributions & Collections Systems Technician I, II, or Senior. We are seeking
motivated candidates who will work as a part of the team that is responsible for the operation and maintenance of our automated metering infrastructure that ensures accurate billing for nearly 25,000 accounts throughout our regional water service area and will support the Backflow & Cross-Connection Control program.

Primary duties for this position include but are not limited to:
• Investigate and take corrective action with malfunctioning meters and cellular endpoints.
• Connect and disconnect water services.
• Locate and dig out buried meters.
• Recheck readings outside of normal parameters.
• Respond to customer concerns about high usage and possible leaks.

Minimum Requirements:
• High School diploma or GED and some experience in meter reading & maintenance or equivalent combination of education and experience. (Tech I or II)
• Extensive experience in AMI and possession of Backflow Certification (Sr. Tech).
• Must have a valid NC Driver’s License.
• Ability to serve in an on-call rotation that requires after-hours call back.

Closing Date: February 12, 2026
Hiring range: $18.06 hourly - $35.13 hourly (depending on experience)
