WATER TREATMENT PLANT SUPERVISOR
The Town of Weaverville is seeking applications for the position of Water Treatment Plant Supervisor.
The Water Treatment Plant Supervisor position serves as the backup Operator in Responsible Charge (ORC) for the Town’s surface water treatment plant and performs a variety of supervisory and administrative duties and skilled, technical and maintenance work in operation of the plant and its water production, wastewater treatment, and laboratory functions; coordinates assigned activities and supervises the work of others; and performs related duties as assigned.
This position involves a high level of independent decision-making and problem-solving; advises and supervises personnel; and is responsible for ensuring that applicable policies, procedures, and safety protocols are followed to support a compliant and efficient working environment in providing safe water for the Town.
Work is performed under general supervision of the Water Treatment Plant Superintendent and Public Works Director.
Classification:
Full-time, exempt position
Pay Range: $59,326 – $98,111 (depending on experience, trainee status)
Regularly works: four 10-hour shifts with some weekend work, days to be set by WTP Superintendent and may be required to be “on call.”
Education, Experience, and Required Certifications:
Any combination of education and experience equivalent to a high school diploma, GED equivalent, trade school certification, and at least 5 years of experience relating to water production, waste water, and lab operations; experience in operating and maintaining water, waste water, and lab equipment; at least 2 years of experience in the supervision of personnel performing duties in these areas. The following are required for the position:
Candidates lacking experience in supervising employees and preparing and submitting state required reports may be considered for employment as a supervisor trainee.
